The building is designed to house two identical three-bed room apartments per floor, separated by the core placed in the middle of the north side. Each apartment features three side exposures and two entrances, connecting to elevator lobby and fire exit.


GENEROUSITY OF FACADES
A lot of glass is compensated by a system of concrete ledges, sun blades, and overhangs that diffuse sunlight and ensure privacy, especially along the south side where most private zones are allocated to.

It is located near another project of SIMPLETREE, Lighthouse. The 14-story tower steps back deeply on the southern side of Road 21 to form a generous front yard with a terraced lawn in the northwest corner of this rectangular lot.

The building’s generously glazed façades enable to bring natural light into spaces along its main north façade and particularly to those apartments situated at lower floors, surrounded tightly by the neighboring buildings.

Ayesha is a residential building in the heart of Banani, a congested commercial and residential part of this central neighborhood in Dhaka.


The lawn connects to a narrow strip of landscaping that forms uninterrupted green space along the perimeter of the site. The south end of the building features a three-meter deep vertical gap right between the two units. It channels prevailing southern and monsoon winds deep into the apartments’ interiors.

Recessed glazed stairwell along the central spine, slicing the tower into two equal halves.

The building’s thick exterior walls help to maintain cool air in hot summers and comfortable temperatures during short winters.
