hashiAsymmetrically composed of three unequal bays the tower’s east façade is designed as a playful composition of single and double floor volumes that frame terraces, balconies, and ledges in a variety of ways.
STANDING WITH THE SOLEIL
Left Image
There is a system at play here, based on rhythms and strategic repetitions. All concrete parapets – one per floor – can be joined by four diagonal lines in a single zigzagging move. Slotted wood parapets only occur at the central bay every other floor.
Abstract Image
Sitting on a rectangular site the building is surrounded by a narrow strip of landscaping on all sides. The building occupies the west side of a T-intersection at Road 4 and is facing east, directly over Road 25, which ensures an unusually high visibility, making its east façade particularly prominent.
